05.01.10 / Selected Banner For The Urban Forest Project
Urban Forest Project Website
The Urban Forest Project is a series of unprecedented outdoor banner exhibitions taking root in cities around the world. In each location, artists, designers, students and the general public will employ the idea or form of the tree to make a powerful visual statement on banners that will be displayed throughout the community.
The idea behind the visuals of my banner was influenced by current issues surrounding health care in America. I wanted to make a connection between how healthy trees are for us and how really, they are our free health care. I believe the more trees people are around, the healthier they will be. So I used the first aid symbol with a few branches sprouting from it to create a quick connection between trees and health / aid.
